The
lens of the SLR camera connects with the camera body by means of bayonet, which
often divides into inner three knives style and outer three knives style, and
in order to prevent the lens from falling from the camera body, it often has
locking tenon. The cameras made by different factories are different, and the
position and operation of the locking gear is a little different, so that the
stalling and removing of the lens is also different, for example, Nikon F
bayonet is inner three knives style and is installed with anticlockwise
rotation; Canon EF bayonet is inner three knives style and is installed with
clockwise rotation. Moreover, the initial position of the locating point is
also different when the lens inserts.
Why do
we use the rotary bayonet? The initial renewable lens connects with the camera
body on the screw, just like screw installs into the nut (like M42 screw). As
the time goes, the screw cannot meet the user’s requirements, for instant, the
screw cannot basically fulfill the requirements of full-aperture metering and
shrinking the aperture, which is the most basic function of the bayonet SLR
camera. Then, bayonet is born.
Do be
careful to install the lens, and be more careful to remove the lens. Remove the
lens vertically otherwise the lens will be not easy to remove, and the lens
cone or the camera body bayonet will be damaged. When rotate the lens, the hand
should handle the lens cone, instead of handling the aperture or the focus ring
or the zoom ring.
Under
the circumstance of full of dust and sand, do not change the lens as possible
as you can, in case the dust and sand goes into the mirror box. If you have to
change the lens in the bad situation, twist over the camera, and install and
remove the lens against the bottom so that the lens can minimize the sand and
dust. Maintenance of the lens is close related to the photo effect,
so the shutterbug should be more careful about the lens when install and remove
the lens.
